ONE Group packaging materials fall under the organic certification standards for their products (i.e., PVC plastic is not permitted as dioxin is a by-product of its production) and have been using both glass and bio-degradable plastics made from starches such as corn and potatoes that would breakdown in landfill and therefore be part of the world's waste problems solutions.
After extensive research into alternatives to petro-chemical plastic, ONE Group found polypropylene, which is leaner, cleaner and greener. Feature of polypropylene include:

In other words, polypropylene has none of the pitfalls of conventional plastic, and it offers the strength and stability of glass, without the weight and large carbon footprint of glass. Even more exciting was the discovery of airless (vacuum technology) packaging, which solved the problem of wasted product. [Editor's Note: I can certainly appreciate this effort as I use a scrapper to get every last drop of the precious Miessence elixirs out of the containers.] Airless packaging dispenses in any position (even upside down!), it’s leak proof, has no metal parts (no corrosion, 100% recyclable) and has a pump with automatic self-closing valves that protect the product from oxidation and prevents dry-out (those pesky dried product plugs in the end of your pump).
No product oxidation, no contamination, no product wastage, no leaking product, no frustrated customers! And they look good too. Many of the Miessence products have already been converted to the new airless packaging, and all products will be converted to the new, leaner, cleaner, greener packaging over the next few months.

The benefits of certified organic products go much further than the products themselves. This approach effectively removes chemicals from the agricultural practices of growing our ingredients, as well as removing the manufacture of synthetic chemicals, and their by-products, that would otherwise go into equivalent conventional commercial products. In addition, it removes chemical exposure of our customers when using these products and of the environment when some of these products are washed down drains or disposed of, after use.
