University of New Jersey recently found moisturizing cream had unexpected cancer-causing activity in researches.

Wellbeing magazine recently reported the following story about moisturizers containing carcinogens.
You don't always find what you are looking for in science. Researchers at the University of New Jersey were recently investigating the effect of caffeine on the development of skin cancer and happened to use moisturizing cream as the carrier, but they found the cream itself had unexpected cancer-causing activity.

The researchers went on to test four common moisturizers on mice. Mice treated with moisturizers and exposed to UV light developed more, larger tumors at a faster rate than mice that were not treated with moisturizers.

Sodium Lauryl Sulphate and Mineral Oil prime cancer suspects

The tumors developed were non-melanoma type and so the least lethal. The researchers suspected the problem agents were mineral oil and sodium lauryl sulphate but said that people should not be alarmed since mouse skin is not the same as human skin. .
Organic skin care strikes us as considerably safer!
